The
property is situated in Hill Street, just off Berkeley Square
in Mayfair, London. The apartment is accessed from the ground
floor and extends into the basement area.
Prior
to works being undertaken the property had been left empty
for two years and as a result was suffering from heavy moisture
ingress and was generally a damp environment. The project
called for a full refurbishment, but principally retaining
the rooms, but adapting their purpose.
The
kitchen was moved upstairs to the ground floor with a traditional
lantern light inserted to provide much needed light to an otherwise
dark room. Provision of three suited bedrooms were created
in the basement, one from the original kitchen position with
the other two within existing bedroom areas. A utility room
was formed in the vaulted roof section of the basement. |
