Flat Refurbishment
Hill Street, Mayfair, London

The property is situated in Hill Street, just off Berkeley Square in Mayfair, London. The apartment is accessed from the ground floor and extends into the basement area.

Prior to works being undertaken the property had been left empty for two years and as a result was suffering from heavy moisture ingress and was generally a damp environment. The project called for a full refurbishment, but principally retaining the rooms, but adapting their purpose.

The kitchen was moved upstairs to the ground floor with a traditional lantern light inserted to provide much needed light to an otherwise dark room. Provision of three suited bedrooms were created in the basement, one from the original kitchen position with the other two within existing bedroom areas. A utility room was formed in the vaulted roof section of the basement.

Due to the inherent problems of damp ingress a full tanking specification was carried out to a number of the walls within the basement.

Tiling to the bathrooms and cloakroom were done using porcelain tiles with a limestone finish combined with beige mosaics. Bespoke hardwood panelled doors were fitted throughout with matching wardrobe doors to bedroom one and bedroom two, which accommodated a walk in wardrobe.

All bathrooms were fitted with concealed cisterns and black granite top extended around the wash hand basins. This black granite was also used for the worktop to the kitchen and utility room. Owing to the location of the property and the rental required, all finishes had to be to a high standard.
