Dental Surgery
Devonshire Street, London W1

The brief was to create an exclusive dental surgery providing between 8-10 surgeries and ancillary accommodation, such as a staff room, labortories, sterilisation rooms, store rooms and WC’s.

The existing building is of Georgian Period over 4 floors, basement to 2nd floor and has been used for office purposes with a collection of separate offices per floor.

The works involved complete strip out of all partition wall, with some structural brick walls cut back and supported with various configurations of supporting steelwork. A large area of flooring had to be removed with additional structural steel support inserted. To create the clean lines contemporary image all existing walls were lined with a layer of plasterboard and plastered as were the new internal partitions.

To maintain sound integrity an acoustic floating floor was installed throughout with acoustic insulation fitted within the partitions.

To make the finishing special all doors were full height with a central full height vision panel. In the ground floor reception area teak flooring was installed with matching teak floating wall panels and desk/unit tops.

To the remaining floor areas Amtico floor tiles had been used, with a wool blend carpet runner to the Geogian staircase. Where possible the original features of the property were retained and complemented the contemporary image.
